Midcoast Youth Center (MYC) is looking for dedicated, caring adults who can provide 2-4 hours of programming for 6-8th graders for our 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. We are looking for responsible, knowledgeable, flexible adults who can teach any of the following:
Music (any instrument), Music Production, Geocaching, Outdoor skills, Computer programming, STEM, Mindfulness, Art, Photography, and/or Poetry.
Required program hours are as follows:
Cohort A: Monday and Thursday (12:30-1:30)
Cohort B: Tuesday and Friday (12:30-1:30)
Candidates must be able to work a minimum of 2 hours (1 hour for each cohort). This position is perfect for retired teachers or community members that are looking to get more involved with the youth of Bath!
Preferred: Experience working with children

About 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant:
The purpose of the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant is to provide academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for at-risk children. The program helps students meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, while also offering students a broad array of enrichment activities to compliment their regular academic programs. Some of the enrichment activities we’ve had thus far are: yoga, bike repair, SNAP Education, Sidekick Tobacco and Vaping Prevention program, theatre, art, fort-building, social-emotional curriculum and discussions, skateboarding/scooting/biking, STEM, and mindfulness activities. We look forward to incorporating music production, piano/guitar lessons, photography, geo-cashing, computer programming and film-editing soon!
