Sagadahoc County Maine Working Communities Challenge
Initiative Director Job Description
With the recent award of a Maine Working Communities Challenge grant from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, Midcoast Community Alliance (“MCA”)/Midcoast Youth Center (“MYC”), and a Sagadahoc County Team of partners are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and entrepreneurial Initiative Director to lead the Sagadahoc County Maine WCC Initiative. Our initiative seeks to create a comprehensive web of education, mentoring, training, jobs, healthcare, and programs that decrease the rates of youth hopelessness (a proxy for depression) by 15% in 10 years, especially those from families with low-to-moderate incomes, and improve projected economic outcomes for young adults in our community.
The Initiative Director will work with a diverse cross-sector collaboration to identify and implement strategies to amplify youth voice and develop youth engagement, strengthen interconnection between institutions and systems for any youth-serving entity in Sagadahoc County, eliminate barriers to resources that allow youth to thrive in school, the workplace, and the community, with a focus on reducing key disparities among rural, low-to-moderate income, and minority communities.
