Attend this session to learn about suicide prevention efforts that span beyond the school into the community at large with support from the medical community. Learn how a coalition was formed and how it has grown to include dozens of community organizations all working together on prevention. A community leader will share some of the losses her community has seen and what is being done to better serve those in need. Hear how law enforcement has taken training through NAMI to be able to recognize mental illness and suicidality in youth; how the guidance department in Bath works to help kids who need support and integrate suicide prevention into their schools; and how MidCoast hospital has partnered with many organizations to support their patients and community members.
