Pole Star Maritime Joins as MYC Corporate Sponsor

Program Partners have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of young people, contributing to their development and future success, including better academic performance, reduced risky behaviors, and improved mental health. By becoming a program partner at Midcoast Youth Center and Skatepark, you can play a vital role in shaping the future of young people and contribute to the well-being of our community as a whole.

For fiscal year 2026, we are pleased to welcome aboard Pole Star Maritime as a Corporate Partner supporting COAST Workforce Development. Coaching, positive interactions, and encouragement in seeking employment are provided by our Workforce Development Coordinator, Nicole Brassard.

Thirty-two young adults, many who also participate in other MYC programs, have worked with our COAST coordinator. Many learned to set up an Indeed profile, create a resume and apply — successfully — for local employment.

With the help of Midcoast Hospital, Nicole created a job shadowing opportunity for one of our young adults interested in becoming an ultrasound tech, and who will be attending SMCC this fall. They were able to see what a day is like in the field and learn more about the different types of ultrasounds administered at the hospital.
